4.55

論。以起大悲至得利益故　釋曰。此辨用益也。新論此中文極周匝。故彼文云。以大悲柔煗心廣大福智藏熏所應化一切眾生增善根等。

[Treatise:] "Because of generating great compassion [...] because of attaining benefit." [Commentary:] This distinguishes the benefits of the activity. The new translation at this point is extremely thorough in its wording; hence its text says: "With a soft, warm mind of great compassion and a vast treasury of merit and wisdom, perfuming all sentient beings who should be converted, increasing their roots of goodness, and so forth."
