[Treatise:] Third, [they are not confused or disordered] by [the ninety-five kinds of non-Buddhists and spirits].
[Commentary:] Non-Buddhists delight in various views. Through cultivating samādhi, one does not waver in the face of various views; hence one is not confused or disordered by them. In general, all non-Buddhists do not exceed the six masters. Each has sixteen dharmas that they study: one is self-study, and the remainder are taught to disciples. Totalling the studies of masters and disciples of those six masters, it is said that there are ninety-six non-Buddhists; this is as stated in the Vinayavibhāṣā. Yet tradition holds that one [kind] resembles the Buddhadharma; the present treatise mentions only those that are completely mistaken, hence it speaks of ninety-five kinds of non-Buddhists.
