The Viśeṣacintabrahmaparipṛcchā-sūtra says:
"If with the body one realizes this Dharma,
one neither sees the Dharma apart from the body,
nor does one see the body apart from the Dharma.
In this contemplation, one does not see dual characteristics,
nor does one see non-dual characteristics.
Thus knowing and seeing before oneself yet also not seeing
is called the noble silence.
If there are bodhisattvas
who toward superior, middling, and inferior dharmas
neither grasp nor abandon,
this is called practicing bodhi.
If toward dharmas and non-dharmas
one does not differentiate them into duality,
nor does one attain non-duality,
this is called practicing bodhi.
If dual, it is conditioned;
if not dual, it is unconditioned.
One who is detached from these two extremes
is said to practice bodhi.
Such a person surpasses the ordinary person,
yet does not enter the stage of the Dharma;
not yet having attained the fruit, they are nevertheless noble,
and are a field of merit for the world.
When walking the Buddha Path,
there are no dharmas to be abandoned,
nor are there any dharmas to be received;
this is called the characteristic of bodhi.
Having no thoughts toward anything—
this is precisely the Tathāgata's Dharma."
