金剛三昧經序品第一　爾時世尊。大眾圍遶。說大乘經。名一味真實際本覺利行。若聞是經。乃至受持一四句偈。是人則為入佛智地。能以方便教化眾生。為一切眾生作大知識。佛說此經已。結跏趺坐。即入金剛三昧。身心不動。爾時眾中。有一比丘。名曰阿伽陀。從坐而起。合掌䠒跪。欲宣義意。而說偈言。

The Vajrasamādhi-sūtra, Chapter One, Introductory Chapter: At that time, the World-Honored One, surrounded by the great assembly, expounded the Great Vehicle sūtra called 'Beneficial Practice of the Original Awakening of the One-Flavored Limit of Reality'. If one hears this sūtra, or even upholds a single four-line gāthā, this person enters the stage of the Buddha's wisdom and can teach and transform sentient beings through expedient means, acting as a great spiritual friend (kalyāṇamitra) for all sentient beings. After the Buddha had spoken this sūtra, he sat cross-legged and immediately entered the vajrasamādhi, unmoving in body and mind. At that time, in the assembly, there was a monk named Agada who rose from his seat, joined his palms, knelt down, and wishing to proclaim the meaning, spoke verses saying:
