Regarding "taking the body and so forth of one's own continuum as the cognitive object": "one's own continuum" refers to one's own substance. If one only said "one's own body," it would not extend to the mind and so on; therefore, using the word "continuum" shows its overall inclusion. "The body and so forth" means it includes feeling, mind, and dharmas. One observes the object of one's own body to cultivate the antidotal contemplation of impurity. One observes the object of one's own feelings to cultivate the antidotal practice of non-pleasure. The remaining two should be understood accordingly.
