省己意樂修等者。省謂省察。意樂即是信及欲樂。若有施等難修屈時。便即有察自身本有信及欲樂。堪能修習不應退也。

Regarding "Examining one's own inclination to cultivate," etc.: "Examining" means scrutinizing. "Inclination" is faith and desire. When one feels daunted during difficult practices such as giving, one should immediately scrutinize the faith and desire originally present in one's own body; being capable of cultivation, one should not regress.
