或復翻此者。若思惟而起者。此位不伏。若因邪師邪教起者。此位能伏。今詳二義此理必然。自思惟內心所起細難伏故。邪教邪師外緣所起易可捨故。

Regarding "or conversely": if they arise through thinking, this stage does not subdue them; if they arise due to wrong teachers and wrong teachings, this stage can subdue them. Now, examining these two meanings, this principle is necessarily so: because what arises internally from one's own thinking is subtle and difficult to subdue, whereas what arises from external conditions such as wrong teachings and wrong teachers is easy to abandon.
