'The three ranks of worthies eternally sever the stream of craving', and so forth: these latter two lines display the Sangha Jewel. The first line displays the ordinary Sangha before the bhūmis; unlike external ordinary beings who follow the stream of saṃsāra, they now cut through the river of craving, desiring to cross over. The second line displays the noble Sangha upon the bhūmis; once realizing non-retrogression, it is called 'galloping afar'. The untainted noble path is therefore called the 'straight road'. 'Those who' refers to provisional persons, namely members of the Sangha.
