耶孃莫悲啼（努力）兒今入道奉尊師（難識）
坐禪誦經常念佛（努力）會當證果得菩提（難識）

Father and mother, do not weep or wail! (Strive diligently!) / Your child now enters the Way to attend upon the revered master (Hard to recognize!). / Sitting in meditation, reciting sūtras, constantly reciting the Buddha's name (Strive diligently!), / In time I will realize the fruit and attain bodhi (Hard to recognize!).
