Namo Amitābha Buddha of the Western Direction. The disciple's own nature has dwelt in the three realms, long enveloped in darkness, remaining in gloom, transmigrating through the six destinies without rest, never having heard the name of the Pure Land. Today having met a good friend, I vow to abandon the foul and defiled body of a common worldling, so that I may attain rebirth in the Land of Utmost Bliss, naturally born upon the lotus platform; may we, together with all sentient beings, be reborn in the Land of Peace and Bliss.
