2.10

爾時。虛空藏菩薩白佛言。我等今者。欲問菩薩菩提因緣。若佛聽許。當敢發問。佛言。善哉善哉。善男子。汝於無量劫。百千佛所。種諸善根。久達菩薩。所行方便。為諸菩薩。問於堅固菩提之道。隨意決問。吾當為汝。分別解說。

At that time, Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva said to the Buddha: "We now wish to ask concerning the bodhisattva's causes and conditions for bodhi. If the Buddha would grant permission, we would venture to raise our questions." The Buddha said: "Excellent, excellent! Good son, you have planted roots of goodness under immeasurable hundreds of thousands of Buddhas over countless kalpas, and have long mastered the skillful means practiced by bodhisattvas. For the sake of all bodhisattvas, you ask about the path of firm and steadfast bodhi. Ask whatever questions you resolve upon, and I will analyze and explain them for you."
