此本藏外經也武周刊定偽經目錄有此經蓋別本歟按日本靈異記修方廣懺者不少矣夫懺悔者四事五念之一而療三毒之良方也今閱此經以懺法為主莫有害於義。

This is an extra-canonical text. The Catalogue of Apocrypha Compiled under the Wu Zhou contains this sūtra; perhaps this is a different version? According to the Nihon Ryōiki, those who practiced the Vaipulya Repentance were not few. Now, repentance is one of the four activities and five contemplations, and an excellent prescription for curing the three poisons. Reading this sūtra today, since it takes the repentance method as its primary subject, there is nothing detrimental to its meaning.
