2.45

The Buddha said to Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva: "Excellent, excellent! Good man, now endowed with compassion, pitying sentient beings, you ask about this matter. Listen attentively, listen attentively, and reflect upon it well! I shall explain it in detail for you. Good man, the realm of this sūtra is not what is known by śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, nor is it the sphere of contemplation of māras, tīrthikas, or ordinary persons. Only the Buddha can know it, and you also are able to comprehend it. Good man, I always tell those who practice the bodhisattva path to practice dāna without regarding good or bad, and the field of merit is accomplished.
