"Bhagavat, this dhāraṇī-mantra was spoken by eight million billion Buddhas. I now speak it. If anyone slanders this mantra, they slander these Buddhas and Tathāgatas. Those who have slandered this mantra will fail to attain the Path for life after life, and will not escape the three realms. Why is this? This mantra can cause those who have lost their minds to regain their original mind. If this dhāraṇī-mantra once passes through their ears, and having heard it they copy it, refrain from meat and alcohol, maintain the pure precepts, stay away from frivolous debates, do not enter noisy marketplaces, constantly practice great compassion, and esteem sitting in meditation, then even if such a person has grave offenses of the three hindrances from immeasurable kalpas, once they hear this mantra, accept and uphold it with utmost sincerity, recite it daily, and keep the scripture in mind without forgetting, that person will not fall into the three paths, up until they attain bodhi."
