「『殺是不善行，減壽命中夭；
身如朝露虫，見光則命終。
持戒奉佛語，得生長壽天；
累劫積福德，不墮畜生道。
今身為龍身，戒德清明行；
雖墮六畜中，必望自濟度。』

"'Killing is an unwholesome act, / reducing lifespan to premature death; / one's body is like a morning-dew insect, / dying as soon as it meets the light. / Upholding the precepts and honoring the Buddha's words, / one is born in the heavens of long life; / accumulating merit through successive kalpas, / one does not fall into the animal realm. / Though my present body is that of a nāga, / my precept virtue is clear and pure in practice; / although fallen among the animals, / I will surely hope to deliver myself.'"
