「吾昔一時患頭痛，猶如兩須彌山壓頭疼痛，痛不可處。今雖成佛諸漏已盡，諸善普集本行不朽，從無數劫修清淨行，行業果報，難可得離。佛身如是，何況阿羅漢、辟支佛，能免行報耶？」

"Once in the past, I suffered from a headache, as if two Mount Sumerus were pressing down upon my head, with pain so unbearable that it could not be endured. Although I have now become a Buddha with all outflows exhausted, all virtues universally gathered, and my original practices not having decayed, yet having cultivated pure conduct for countless kalpas, karmic deeds and retributions are hard to escape. If it is thus even for the Buddha's body, how much less could arhats and pratyekabuddhas avoid the retribution of deeds?"
