The water deity replied, saying: “Among the six deities, I am the most superior. Why is that? If there were no water, the earth would be parched and dry without any moisture; grasses, trees, flowers, and fruits would all wither away; and all embodied classes of sentient beings would perish of thirst. For this reason, I am the most superior.”
