1.56

「所言三障者：一曰煩惱障；二名為業障；三是果報障。此三種法更相由籍，因煩惱故所以起惡業，惡業因緣故得苦果。是故，弟子！今日至心，第一先應懺悔煩惱障。

"What are called the three obstructions: the first is called the obstruction of kleśas; the second is named the karmic obstruction (karmāvaraṇa); the third is the obstruction of retribution. These three kinds of dharmas depend upon one another: because of kleśas, one produces evil karma; by reason of evil karma, one obtains bitter retribution. Therefore, disciple, today with a sincere mind, you should first perform kṣamā for the obstruction of kleśas.
