1.72

爾時，摩竭道場菩提樹光明不現，其華枯悴墮落佛前，一切大眾皆悉驚疑，各相謂言：「今此菩提道場樹華，何故墮落？」大眾菩薩皆生疑惑不自安隱。

At that time, in the bodhimaṇḍa of Magadha, the radiance of the bodhi tree did not appear; its flowers withered and fell before the Buddha. The entire great assembly was startled and suspicious, and each said to the other: "Now, for what reason have the flowers of this tree in the bodhimaṇḍa fallen?" The bodhisattvas of the great assembly all gave rise to doubt and were ill at ease.
