寶達頃前更入一斫手地獄。云何名曰斫手地獄？其地獄縱廣三十六由旬，其地獄中有大鐵床，縱廣五十餘步，炎火猛熾烟焰俱起來燒罪人，罪人見之迫迮倒地而不自勝。

Shortly after, Baoda further entered a Hand-Chopping Hell. Why is it named the Hand-Chopping Hell? That hell is thirty-six yojanas in length and breadth. Within that hell there is a great iron bed, more than fifty paces in length and breadth, with blazing fires raging fiercely and smoke and flames rising together to burn the sinful persons; when the sinful persons see it, they fall to the ground in terror, unable to bear it.
