23.15

寶達頃前入一諍論地獄。云何名曰諍論地獄？其地獄縱廣八十由旬，鐵壁周匝羅網覆上，中有鐵鏘亦如上說。中有鐵鉤鉤罪人舌，復有鐵斧來斫其舌寸寸而絕，復有火銖灌其口中背上而出，一日一夜受罪無量，萬死萬生千死千生。

Shortly thereafter, Baoda entered a Hell of Disputation. Why is it named the Hell of Disputation? That hell is eighty yojanas in length and breadth, surrounded by iron walls, with a mesh net covering it from above, and inside it are iron spears as described above. Within it are iron hooks that hook the sinners' tongues; there are also iron axes that come and chop their tongues into pieces inch by inch; furthermore, there are molten iron ounces poured into their mouths that exit through their backs. Throughout a day and night they undergo limitless punishment, dying ten thousand times and being reborn ten thousand times, dying a thousand times and being reborn a thousand times.
