24.23

「嗚呼！難思議，云何顛倒見，
已得渡大海，而沒其深淵？
已得離生盲，還復失光明？
已得無為道，還墮有為中？
已得離生死，還被欲火燒？」

"Alas! How inconceivable! How can there be such inverted views:
Having already managed to cross the great ocean, yet drowning in its deep abyss?
Having already managed to leave behind inborn blindness, yet losing sight once again?
Having already attained the unconditioned path, yet falling back into the conditioned?
Having already managed to leave behind saṃsāra, yet being burned anew by the fire of desire?"
