The Buddha said to Mahānāma: "Listen closely now, and I will explain it for you. Bhikṣu, consider the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the east, the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the south, the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the west, the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the north, and the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the nadir, zenith, and four intermediate directions. In all those worlds, from down to the water limit up to Bhavāgra, they are completely filled with fine dust motes. Bhikṣu, what do you think? Could the number of those fine dust motes be known?"
