"The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Vipaśyin Buddha were named, first, Khaṇḍa, and second, Tiṣya. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Śikhin Buddha were named, first, Abhibhū, and second, Sambhava. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Viśvabhū Buddha were named, first, Uttara, and second, Abhirata. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Krakucchanda Buddha were named, first, Sañjīva, and second, Vidura. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Kanakamuni Buddha were named, first, Bhiyyosa, and second, Uttara. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of Kāśyapa Buddha were named, first, Tiṣya, and second, Bhāradvāja. The foremost śrāvaka disciples of myself, Śākyamuni Buddha, are named, first, Śāriputra, and second, Maudgalyāyana. Of pairs such as these above, the former was foremost in wisdom, and the latter foremost in supernatural powers.
