May we, the disciples, by relying on the merit produced by this confession of greed, anger, delusion, and all other kleśas, aspire life after life to break the banner of pride, dry up the water of craving and desire, extinguish the fire of anger, shatter the darkness of foolishness, uproot the root of doubt, and tear apart the net of views. May we deeply recognize the three realms as a prison, the four great elements as poisonous snakes, the five aggregates as treacherous bandits, the six sense-entrances as an empty village, and love and attachment as deceptive pretenders of affection; cultivate the eightfold noble path to cut off the source of ignorance, head directly toward nirvāṇa without resting or stopping, be continuously attuned in thought after thought to the thirty-seven aids to awakening, and always have the ten pāramitās manifest before us.
