「『不明白益法,不知道德業;
惡法而心著,遠棄於善法;
常樂我淨想,計於五陰中;
種種惱險道,盲人入中行;
不應取而取,應取而反棄;
"‘Not understanding dharmas of pure benefit,
not knowing virtuous deeds,
it instead acts as the cause of fetters,
like fire born from rubbing drill and hearth.
The mind clings to evil dharmas
and casts far away the good dharmas;
it is a thief robbing sentient beings of light,
plundering both the past and future light.
Conceiving permanence, pleasure, self, and purity,
it reckons them within the five aggregates;
and the dharmas of suffering, origination, cessation, and the path,
it likewise cannot know.
Manifold afflictions are a treacherous road;
a blind person enters and walks in their midst.
Due to kleśas, karma accumulates;
due to karma, one drifts in suffering.
Grasping what should not be grasped,
and instead casting away what should be grasped;
racing in darkness, pursuing improper paths,
stumbling over tree stumps and tumbling to the ground.
Having eyes yet lacking wisdom
is also just like this simile;
because these causes and conditions are extinguished,
the light of wisdom rises like the sun.’
