答曰：「非為欲得苦，欲存大樂，畏苦故取死。苦為第一患，樂為第一利，以是故離實苦得快樂，是故佛以果分，獨名苦諦，非無常、空、無我諦。」

Answer: "This is not out of a desire to obtain duḥkha, but wishing to preserve great happiness; fearing duḥkha, they therefore choose death. Duḥkha is the foremost affliction, and happiness is the foremost benefit. For this reason, by abandoning true duḥkha one attains happiness. Therefore, for the division of fruit, the Buddha uniquely named it the truth of duḥkha, and not the truth of impermanence, emptiness, or non-self."
