Contact conditions feeling. What is feeling? Three kinds of feeling: pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling. What is pleasant feeling? It is the latent tendency of craving. What is painful feeling? It is the latent tendency of aversion. What is neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling? It is the latent tendency of ignorance. Furthermore, pleasant feeling brings pleasure on arising, pleasure while abiding, and suffering upon cessation; painful feeling brings suffering on arising, suffering while abiding, and pleasure upon cessation; neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling is not aware of suffering and not aware of pleasure.
