"When one breaks the precepts, the mind is impure, / just like a thieving dog,
seeking gain and offerings everywhere, / killed by its own greedy mind.
One should take the medicine of shame and remorse, / take patience as one's clothing,
make repentance one's adorning flowers, / and perfume [oneself] with the incense of a good mind.
With single-mindedness contemplate the Buddha's marks; / eliminating suffering, one will be free of sorrowful distress.
One should also be mindful of empty dharmas, / cultivate the mind, and contemplate impurity.
This is called the medicine of all Tathāgatas' / amṛta consecration;
those who take it will have no grief in mind / and can reach the shore of nirvāṇa.
One should practice according to the Dharma; / what is not Dharma should not be done.
In this world or in lives to come, / those who practice the Dharma will attain deliverance.
Accord with what the Buddha has taught; / maintain the precepts and practice the dhūtas;
with body and mind free of evil deeds, / one will swiftly arrive at liberation."
