如來即以手申其髮，從尼拘樓陀精舍，至父王宮，如紺琉璃，遶城七匝。於佛髮中大眾皆見若干色光，不可具說，是一一光普照一切，作紺琉璃色。於琉璃色中有諸化佛不可稱數。現是相已斂髮卷光，右旋婉轉，還住佛頂即成䗍文，是名如來真實髮相。

The Tathāgata then extended his hair with his hand: from the Nyagrodhārāma to his father the king's palace, like dark beryl, it encircled the city seven times. Within the Buddha's hair, the great assembly all saw lights of various colors beyond description; each of those lights shone everywhere upon everything, appearing the color of dark beryl. Within that beryl color, there were transformation Buddhas beyond reckoning. Having displayed these marks, he gathered the hair and retracted the light; curling to the right and gracefully coiling, it settled back upon the Buddha's crown, instantly forming spirals. This is called the Tathāgata's true mark of the hair.
