3.42

佛告諸釋子：「汝今可稱過去佛名，為佛作禮；并稱汝父，禮過去佛；亦稱我名，敬禮於我，未來有佛號曰彌勒，亦當敬禮。說汝先世邪見之罪，今佛現世沙門大眾一切雲集，汝當向諸大德眾僧發露悔過，隨順佛語懺悔諸罪，佛法眾中，五體投地如太山崩。向佛懺悔心眼得開，見佛色身端嚴微妙，如須彌山光顯大海。」

The Buddha told the Śākya sons: "You should now recite the names of the past Buddhas and pay homage to the Buddhas; also invoke your father's name and pay homage to the past Buddhas; also recite my name and pay homage to me; and in the future there will be a Buddha named Maitreya, to whom you should also pay homage. Acknowledge your sins of wrong views from past lifetimes. Now that the Buddha is currently in the world and the assembly of śramaṇas has all gathered like clouds, you should disclose and repent your faults before the Saṅgha of venerable monks, comply with the Buddha's words to repent your various sins, and in the presence of the assembly of the Buddha's Dharma, throw your five limbs to the ground like the collapse of Mount Tai. Repenting before the Buddha, your mind's eye will be opened, and you will see the Buddha's form-body, dignified, wondrous, and subtle, like Mount Sumeru brilliantly illuminating the great ocean."
