"Having given rise to sympathetic joy, next one cultivates equanimity: these sentient beings have no marks of coming or going; they arise from mental conceptualization (that which arises from mental conceptualization is nominally called 'mind' through the combination of causes and conditions). Such mental conceptualization is like a wild blossom arising from distortion; suffering arises from conceptualization, and happiness is born from conceptualization; the mind is like a plantain tree, lacking solidity within, as explained extensively as in the sūtras' ten similes. When performing this contemplation, one sees neither body nor mind; one sees all dharmas as identical with the true nature of reality. This is called the bodhisattva's body, feeling, mind, and dharmas. Relying on this dharma, one extensively cultivates the thirty-seven factors conducive to awakening. If one attains realization, it is the śrāvaka's dharma; if one does not attain realization, it is the bodhisattva's dharma."
