The Buddha said to Ānanda: "If there is a sentient being whose mental visualization of statues has succeeded, they should next contemplate the images of the past seven Buddhas. One who contemplates the seven Buddhas should be diligently energetic, practicing the six dharmas diligently during the six periods of the day and night. Sitting upright in correct absorption, one should delight in speaking little; apart from reciting the scriptures and broadly expounding the Dharma teachings, one must never utter meaningless speech. One should constantly be mindful of the Buddhas, thought continuing upon thought, to the point that there is not even a single instant in which one does not see the Buddhas. Because the mind is focused and dedicated, one is never separated from the Buddha-sun.
