Then the Bhagavat entered the ocean-like samādhi of the crown, causing vaiḍūrya light to surge forth from every single pore in the uṣṇīṣa atop the Buddha's head. The light was like water, coiling to the right like conch markings and pervading countless worlds in the ten directions, like oceans numbering as many as the dust motes of ten billion worlds. From all eighty-four thousand hairs, this watery appearance emerged; each watery appearance was again hundreds of thousands of times greater than this, its number unknowable. Upon this vaiḍūrya water grew numerous divine jeweled lotus flowers, each flower having countless hundreds of thousands of koṭis of petals, and the petals displaying countless hundreds of thousands of koṭis of jewel colors. Even the smallest petal completely covered a trichiliocosm. Upon these flowers, among each of the stamens, were immeasurable asaṃkhyeyas of hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of transformation Buddhas, numerous as the sands of the Ganges; from the uṣṇīṣa mark atop the head of each transformation Buddha, many lights flowed forth in the same way. At that time, the measure of the bodies of the Buddhas was equal to empty space and unknowable; these Buddhas succeeded one another, extending to the very edge of the ocean of worlds. When this mark appeared, in each of the ten directions, bodhisattvas numbering as many as the dust motes of ten billion worlds rose into the sky, manifested great supernormal transformations, and came to the presence of Śākyamuni Buddha. Through the Buddha's spiritual power, upon momentarily seeing a small portion of the auspicious marks within a single pore, these bodhisattvas immediately attained immeasurable hundreds of thousands of vajra-mark dhāraṇīs. When the Buddha manifested this mark, the thousand bodhisattvas of the Bhadrakalpa and the Buddhas of the ten directions all manifested this mark.
