10.50

The Buddha told Ānanda: "After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, in the corrupt and evil world, if there are sentient beings who hear of the Buddha's supreme marks and their minds are neither startled nor doubtful, nor do they give rise to fear and dread, you should know that such persons will be able to extinguish all afflictions and karmic hindrances. Those who hear of the Buddha's supreme marks and give rise to sympathetic joy will eradicate extremely heavy evil karma of a thousand billion kalpas; in their future births, they will not fall into the three wretched realms, nor will they be born into the eight conditions of lack of leisure."
