At that time, the Bhagavat opened his saṃkakṣikā and revealed the emblem of virtue on his chest. After causing the monks to read and recite the emblem of virtue, they came to know the Buddha's adornment of merit and wisdom; and from within the svastika emblem, he expounded the eighty-four thousand meritorious practices of the Buddha. Having seen this, the monks praised the Buddha, saying: "The Bhagavat is most extraordinary! He expounds immeasurable meanings merely from the emblem on his chest, so how much more [immeasurable] must be all the merits of the Buddha's mind?" Having spoken these words, they repented before the Buddha, throwing their five limbs to the ground like the collapse of Mount Tai, wailing, weeping tears like rain, and crying before the Buddha.
