The Buddha told Ānanda: “If good men and good women, when engaging in such reflection, remember and think in this way, or dream of this matter, then in every place they are born they will constantly encounter Samantabhadra and Mañjuśrī. These Princes of the Dharma will constantly preach the Buddha-Dharma of the past, future, and three times to the practitioners in their dreams; they will preach the Śūraṅgama-samādhi and the Pratyutpanna-samādhi, and also preach the Buddhānusmṛti-samādhi as an adornment, so that upon awakening they will remember and retain it without forgetting. In this present life, such a person will have the Goddess of Merit as their attendant, and the sins of birth and death of one hundred thousand koṭis of kalpas will be eliminated. One who contemplates in this way is termed one who practices right contemplation; if one contemplates otherwise, it is termed wrong contemplation.”
