The Buddha told Ānanda: "This is called the divine transformations of bodily marks and radiant light when the Tathāgata ascended from Jambudvīpa to the Trāyastriṃśa palace. After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, if the Buddha's disciples contemplate in this way, it is called correct contemplation; if they contemplate otherwise, it is called false contemplation. One who performs this contemplation eliminates the sins of birth and death for one hundred million kalpas, and at the end of life will see the Buddhas of the ten directions and certainly be reborn in a pure Buddha land in another realm."
