The Buddha told the great king: "After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, if the Buddha's disciples wish to know the Tathāgata's sovereign divine powers in subduing the Wilderness Demon, contemplating in this way is called correct contemplation; if they contemplate otherwise, it is called false contemplation. After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, if there are sentient beings who reflect on this teaching, contemplate this teaching, and attain this thought, they will eliminate the sins of birth and death for hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, will never take on the body of a spirit life after life, and will meet Buddhas without intermission. Even when there is no Buddha, they will meet pratyekabuddhas; and when there is no pratyekabuddha, they will constantly meet ṛṣis who will preach the correct path for them."
