佛說自愛經 1.13

1.13

佛言：「自愛之法，先三自歸，以法養親，慈愛人物，悲愍愚惑，見正喜進，平等普護，安濟眾生，施斯四恩，布施窮乏；眾生無怨，諸天祐育，眾橫不加，牢獄、利劍、諸毒消歇，親安族興，生無災患，死得上天，常與明會。斯謂自愛者也！」

The Buddha said: "As for the method of loving oneself: first take the three refuges; support one's parents according to the Dharma; love and care for humans and other beings; have pity on the foolish and deluded; rejoice and advance upon seeing the upright; protect all equally; bring peace and deliverance to sentient beings; bestow these four kinds of kindness, and give alms to the destitute and needy. Then sentient beings will harbor no resentment, all the gods will protect and nurture them, untoward disasters will not strike, prisons, sharp swords, and all poisons will abate, parents will be at peace and the clan will prosper, in life there will be no disasters or afflictions, at death one will ascend to heaven, and one will constantly meet with the enlightened. Such is called one who loves oneself!"
