1.27

復有五事。一者、三師俱出不得持杖自隨。二者、四人共行除上座不得普持。三者、到檀越門好正威儀。四者、入檀越門三抖擻三反，不出，從至餘家。五者、檀越出應持杖著左肘中央。

There are further five matters: First, when the three teachers go out together, one must not carry the staff to follow them on one's own. Second, when four people walk together, none may generally carry it except the senior monk (sthavira). Third, upon reaching the door of a donor, properly rectify one's deportment. Fourth, upon entering the door of a donor, shake it three times; if no one comes out, proceed to another house. Fifth, when the donor comes out, one should hold the staff across the center of the left elbow.
