As for the general model: the upper platform models heaven, the lower platform models earth, and the four branches model the Four Heavenly Kings; the twelve rings model the twelve links of dependent origination, encompassing heaven, earth, humans, and gods, above and below, omitting nothing. Whenever one gives rise to compassion, widely generating myriad practices, even if creatures do not follow this standard, one has already planted roots of goodness.
