1.116

「圓覺汝當知，一切諸眾生，
欲求無上道，先當結三期，
懺悔無始業。經於三七日，
然後正思惟，非彼所聞境，
畢竟不可取。奢摩他至靜，
三摩正憶持，禪那明數門，
是名三淨觀。若能勤修習，
是名佛出世。鈍根未成者，
常當勤心懺，無始一切罪，
諸障若銷滅，佛境便現前。」

"Pūrṇabodha, you should know
that all sentient beings
who wish to seek the unsurpassed Path
should first set the three periods,
repenting of beginningless karma.
Passing through three times seven days,
they should then engage in correct contemplation.
Realms that they have not heard of
must ultimately not be accepted.
Śamatha is utmost stillness;
samāpatti is correct recollection;
dhyāna is clarifying the gateway of counting;
these are called the three pure contemplations.
If one can diligently cultivate them,
this is called a Buddha appearing in the world.
Those of dull roots who have not accomplished them
should constantly and diligently repent with their whole hearts
all their beginningless transgressions.
If all obstacles are melted away,
the Buddha's realm will then appear before them."
