"Tejovāśitā, you should know / that the mind of unsurpassed great enlightenment / has originally no duality of characteristics. / The upāyas in accordance with it / are immeasurable in number. / As the Tathāgata reveals them in general, / there are three categories: / tranquil śamatha, / like a mirror reflecting images; / illusion-like samādhi, / like a seedling gradually growing; / dhyāna, which is solely quiescence, / like the resonance within that vessel. / These three wondrous Dharma-doors / are all in accordance with enlightenment; / the Tathāgatas of the ten directions / and the great bodhisattvas / attain the Way through them. / Because these three undertakings are fully realized, / it is called ultimate nirvāṇa."
