大鉢真言曰（取袈裟手內角及搭肩之角，繞肘迴入手中，令二角如雙耳也。重於二手引上當臍，承鉢之形同如來。持河沙諸佛幖幟之儀，令非器眾生堪為法器）：

The mantra of the Great Bowl (take the inner corner of the kāṣāya and the corner that rests on the shoulder, wrap around the elbows and bring back into the hands, making the two corners like a pair of ears. Bringing both hands together, draw upward before the navel; the posture of receiving the bowl is identical to the Tathāgata's. Holding the rites and emblems of Buddhas as numerous as sands of the Ganges enables living beings who are unfit vessels to become vessels of the Dharma):
