「復次若於塔中或淨室內，取其淨土和合栴檀，用作三級方壇。隨其大小，以種種草花布散壇上，取一瑠璃瓶盛滿醍醐。復以舍利七粒置於瓶內，置壇上。作法之人於其壇西敷淨席坐，至心䠒跪，燒香散花誦持大呪，不經七遍，爾時舍利即放光明，照其行者。誦呪之人至心頂禮發願，取此醍醐身自服之，一切障難悉除滅。又取舍利作囊盛之以用頂戴，一切諸佛菩薩、天龍鬼神恒不遠離，圍繞守護視之如佛，一切眾生見者歡喜恭敬供養。」

Furthermore, if in a stupa or in a pure room, one takes pure earth mixed with sandalwood to make a three-tiered square altar, according to its size, scatter various grass flowers over the altar, take a lapis lazuli vase filled with clarified butter, place seven grains of relics into the vase, and set it on the altar. The practitioner should spread a clean mat to the west of the altar and sit, kneeling sincerely, burning incense, scattering flowers, and chanting the great mantra. Before seven repetitions have passed, the relics will emit bright light, illuminating the practitioner. The reciter should sincerely bow, make vows, take this clarified butter and consume it himself; all hindrances and difficulties will be eradicated. Moreover, take the relics, put them into a pouch, and wear it upon the crown of the head; all buddhas, bodhisattvas, devas, nāgas, ghosts, and spirits will never depart from him, encircling and protecting him, regarding him as a buddha; all sentient beings who see him will be joyful, reverent, and make offerings.
