‘‘Atha kho therānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – bhagavatā, kho āvuso, khaṇḍaphullappaṭisaṅkharaṇaṃ vaṇṇitaṃ, handa mayaṃ, āvuso, paṭhamaṃ māsaṃ khaṇḍaphullappaṭisaṅkharaṇaṃ karoma, majjhimaṃ māsaṃ sannipatitvā dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyissāmā’’ti (cūḷava. 438).

"Then, indeed, it occurred to the elder monks: 'Friends, the repair of broken and dilapidated [parts] has been praised by the Blessed One. Come, friends, let us carry out the repair of broken and dilapidated [parts] in the first month; having assembled in the middle month, we shall recite the Dhamma and the Vinaya.'"
