Tattha evanti nipātapadaṃ. Metiādīni nāmapadāni. Paṭipanno hotīti ettha paṭīti upasaggapadaṃ, hotīti ākhyātapadanti. Iminā tāva nayena padavibhāgo veditabbo.

Therein, ‘thus’ (evaṃ) is an indeclinable word. [Words] such as ‘by me’ (me) are nouns. In ‘has entered upon’ (paṭipanno hoti), ‘paṭi-’ is a prefix, and ‘hoti’ is a verb. In this way, first of all, the grammatical division of words should be understood.
