In the passage beginning with "deceivers": they deceive and astonish the world by the three bases of deception; hence they are deceivers. Being desirous of gain and honor, they chatter; hence they are chatterers. Making hints is their habit; hence they are hinters. Harassing is their habit; hence they are harassers. They covet, seek, and pursue gain with gain; hence they are pursuers of gain with gain. This is a designation for individuals endowed with deception, chattering, hinting, harassing, and pursuing gain with gain. This is the summary here. In detail, however, these qualities beginning with deception are explained in the Path of Purification, precisely in the exposition of morality, having adduced both the canonical text and the commentary.
