"Dwells percipient of the finite in the world": having not expanded the counterpart sign up to the edge of the world system, and taking it as "the world," one dwells percipient of the finite in the world. But having made the kasiṇa expanded up to the edge of the world system, one is percipient of the infinite; having not expanded it above and below, but having expanded it across, one is percipient of the finite above and below, and percipient of the infinite across. The logician's doctrine should be understood in the very manner stated. All four of these, because they are grasped by view solely in accordance with what has been previously seen by oneself, are entered among those who speculate on the past.
